A Secret Collaborator Behind Silent Hills Revealed?
It seems that Silent Hills was one of those rare moments where the perfect collaborators come together, but were sadly a victim due to the production system. Yes, Konami’s most questionable decision of firing Hideo Kojima and in tandem cancelling one of his most hyped projects after Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Silent Hills. The game had quite a powerhouse of names behind it as it was being worked on not only by Hideo Kojima, but also by famous director Guillermo del Toro and had Norman Reedus signed on as the main star.
Silent Hills had created quite a lot of
hype behind it due to P.T., which
stands for Playable Teaser, giving us an insight into the creepy and scary
world of a next-generation Silent Hill game. It almost seemed to perfect and
sadly, in the end it was exactly that as it ended up getting cancelled shortly
after Kojima was fired during the production of MGS V.
After all that, Guillermo del Toro
decided to join Twitter and gave us an insight into another collaborator behind
the project, which even adds to the pain that is its cancelling. If anyone has
ever read the manga series Gyo, Tomie, or Uzumaki might know that they are the
creations of horror mastermind Junji Ito. Well, it seems that he was one of the
people behind the project and del Toro describes him as „the undisputed master
of horror in Japan“ and I personally have to agree with that fact. This truly is
the nail in the coffin that Silent Hills could have been the scariest entry in
the franchise that we will sadly never see realized.[1]

do you feel about this? Have you ever read Junji Ito’s works? What did you
think of them? Leave a comment below!
