Chloe Moretz Joins Universal's The Little Mermaid Adaptation

It seems that after Cinderella and Peter Pan being adapted into live-action and Beauty and the Beast with Emma Watson still in production, the live-action adaptation of fairy tales have become quite popular. Chloe Grace Moretz has now officially signed on to star in an upcoming Little Mermaid adaptation by Universal Studios.

Richard Curtis is currently in talk to write the script based on the original fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen. Originally, it was meant to be adapted by Sofia Coppola, but she has exited the project due to creative differences. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner from Working Title are producing with Liza Chasin and Amelia Granger on as Executive Producers.[1]
