A New Vigilante Enters Hell's Kitchen

It looks like Daredevil won’t be the only vigilante to fight his way through the criminals of Hell’s Kitchen, as we now have the official word from Marvel that Frank Castle aka the Punisher will be joining the fight. Joe Bernthal, an actor known for his roles in Wolf of Wall Street, The walking Dead and Fury, is joining the Netflix Original show Daredevil in its second season.[1]

According to Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb “Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences.” Furthermore he states a rather interesting quote regarding the future of the show thanks to his appearance, as “Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”

With his entry into the Netflix side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe it certainly could lead to many speculations. Will Punisher potentially join the Defenders in the mini-series? Or is this a potential back-door pilot for a new Netflix show focusing on the ruthless vigilante?
