Mockingbird Receiving Her Own ABC Show Afterall?

Anyone remember those rumors surrounding a Mockingbird-centric spin-off from ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD that seemed to have been scrapped? Well, it seems that it has returned in full force and even given an official title. The first main news is that the show will focus on Bobbi Morse a.k.a. Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki) and her ex-husband Lance Hunter (Nick Blood).[1]

The show will be titled Marvel’s Most Wanted, which could hint at a storyline with Bobbi and Lance on the run, which will be co-created by Jeff Bell and Paul Zbyszewski, who are now tasked with writing a pilot for the show. According to Variety “the series is not a spinoff, per se, but rather an entirely new project solely focused on the two characters to continue their story.”

It is certainly interesting that they have decided to spin-off Mockingbird after all and the title could open the possibility for this to be like an anthology series, similar in concept to CW’s Legends of Tomorrow. It also hints at the potential of various crossovers for the new character being introduced in season three of Agents of SHIELD, which will get quite large considering the inclusion of the Secret Warriors. I confess that while I am very much looking forward to this project, I do believe that the Secret Warriors would be a wiser spin-off choice, as it seems people prefer stories featuring gifted individuals, as superheroes are quite popular at the moment.
