Victoria Alonso Promoted To Executive Vice President of Physical Production at Marvel Studios
It looks like Marvel Studios is already evolving its new independence with a managerial staff change within the company. According to Variety, it seems that Victoria Alonso, who has been producing the films since 2008 and has been an important element of overseeing the visual effects for all Marvel films so far. With Marvel’s The Avengers she was bumped up to executive producer, but it seems that she was just now promoted even further.
She is now the official new Executive Vice President of
Physical Production, which gives her the duties to oversee all physical
production, post-production and production technical operations for Marvel
Studios produced films. She is one of the few woman to have such a position
within a major film studio.[1]
This is quite interesting, as it could be a sign that the
company is restructering the way it keeps its consistent tone between the
films. Instead of having people constantly supervise the directors and scripts,
it seems they might be creating important individuals that try to keep a
consistency on the various levels of productions themselves. Could we see new
positions popping up in the near future? Either way, I think we can
congratulate Ms. Alonso on her new position at the company and I am looking
forward to seeing the impact she leaves at the company!
What is your opinion
on the matter?
