It seems that the recently rumored Punisher Netflix spin-off might not actually be in development as originally believed. While this doesn't completely rule out its existence, it just seems that Netflix and Marvel are currently truly focusing on releasing everything that was already planned up to this point. Jeph Loeb in a recent interview stated that "I think that's something that people are speculating on, as opposed to something that's actually happening. It's certainly our hope that any of our characters will be embraced and taht people want to see more of them."

This certailny shows that there is interest, but with Iron Fist still without an official casting announcement and no given information who will be the showrunner behind the Defenders or even when we will see the mini-series being released it is understandable they are focusing on finishing their current projects before they truly expand, but it doesn't rule out seeing Frank Castle in the upcoming Defenders mini-series.
