I confess I have been slacking in the DC Television news department the last few days, as I sadly didn’t find the time to get around writing about the amazing reveals from SDCC’15 Warner Bros. Television Division panel and luckily the today we had quite some amazing reveals that expand on some of the news already given to us. With the CW-verse, as some call it, expanding even more with the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow series that will start next year in 2016 and many rumors suggesting even more heroes joining the fray, it was only a matter of time until we got some of our confirmations. So, let us start off with Arrow and work our way towards the other shows.

Legends of Tomorrow
Well, as we know the show will introduce us to Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl, who had a brief appearance at the end of season one of The Flash, and it was revealed at SDCC’15 that her better half Hawkman will also make an appearance, but still has not been cast. Otherwise not much is still known about the show except for what the trailer has already revealed. Considering that time travel is involved we could maybe explore the past lives of Hawkman and Hawkgirl, which could open up a lot of potential storylines for the show.[1]

Arrow
While Arrow will still stick with its name, it is now official that Oliver Queen will actually become the Green Arrow in the comics and is also going to have a costume that is more accurate to the comics and I have to say looks fantastic. He even held the SDCC’15 panel in costume showcasing it. Furthermore, something many have assumed would happen, Arrow will be given a lighter tone, probably to make it easier for the show to crossover with Flash, which has a much lighter tone than the first three seasons of Arrow. Furthermore, it seems Diggle, played by David Ramsey, will be getting his own costume as well that kind of reminds me of a street version of The Guardian, a visored helment with black padded leather.[2]

Another reveal was the addition of the DC Comics superhero Mr. Terrific in the upcoming fourth season, who we can now confirm is being played by Echo Kellum. His characters description is that “[Curtis] Holt is a technological savant and inventor who works at Palmer Technologies under the supervision of Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).” This also confirms that poor Oliver isn’t getting his company back anytime soon.[3] At the SDCC’15 panel they stated they were hoping to add a LGBT character for quite some time and found the perfect addition in Mr. Terrific.[4]

Furthermore, another Batman villain is joining Arrow, as Anarky, who some might remember from the Batman: Arkham Origins video game, has also been cast for the upcoming season. Alexander Calvert will be portraying the social activist in the upcoming season and is characterized as: “Lonnie Machin (AKA Anarky) is a deranged freelancing criminal who is willing to do whatever it takes to impress a potential employer.” It seems that his character is much closer to the incarnation we saw in the sadly brief Beware the Batman TV series and not a social activist like in the before-mentioned video game. It is also confirmed that the character will have a recurring role and will first appear in the second episode of the upcoming season.[5]

The Flash
Season 2 will certainly ramp up the action, as it will pick up shortly after the black hole incident from the first season finale. Furthermore, they have officially cast the character of Jay Garrick, who was the original Flash in the comics long before Barry Allen. Teddy Sears will portray him in the show with some hints being that he will be similar to his Earth-2 counterpart from the comics. Furthermore, we also have confirmation that we will indeed meet this worlds Wally West.[6]

Also, it seems that Caitlin Snow may not be able to outrun her comic persona Killer Frost, as they have noted they do intend to bring the character back on the show, so it might only be a question of time. Additionally, Cisco might actually learn to utilize his vibration powers that will be an important aspect on building the alternate universes storylines the upcoming season is building on. Maybe we could see more incarnations of the Flash facing off the also no confirmed villain of Zoom. While most comic fans will know that the Reverse-Flash was also known as Professor Zoom, this incarnation will actually be Hunter Zolomon, who only goes by the name Zoom, who was once a F.B.I. agent out to take the Speed Force for himself. Could this maybe be a hint at the return of Eddie Thawne?

So, what do you think? What bit of news are you looking forward to the most? Leave a comment below!
