Gambit Has Lost Its Director

At this point, 20th Century Fox can only rely on Bryan Singer for their X-Men related projects, as it seems the Gambit film is once again facing some tribulations. A while back, I missed on a report that Channing Tatum, the star and the main reason the film project is even happening, was considering leaving the project if the company didn’t pay him enough salary, but the exact details were kept under wraps naturally.

So, what could have made the project face worse tribulations? Rupert Wyatt has left the project, but not due to creative differences, but due to the release date being pushed back and it wouldn’t allow him to make another project he was already signed up for.[1]

As he stated officially:
“I was very much looking forward to working with my friend Channing and the team at Fox, but regrettably a push in the start date now conflicts with another project, I thank them for the opportunity, and I know that Gambit will make a terrific film.”

Personally, I am a bit unsure what to expect from a Gambit film, but it will be interesting to see who will replace Wyatt in the directors chair.
