DC Comics and Warner Bros. are starting their push to make 2016 the year that that the DC Expanded Universe of films finally kicks off with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice heading our way and the recently released Suicide Squad trailer. A few nights ago they released a special on DC Films, which gave Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns the chance to highlight some elements of these coming films.

In the course of the show one major question was also answered, as up to this point no one has been cast as a Green Lantern, who has always been a main stay for the DC universe and especially the Justice League. With Justice League Part 1 going to start production soon, many were wondering what would happen with that character and if he will appear in the film.

Johns stated that "We've been to these cities, we've been underwater, but there's one place we haven't been to: space. But now we are. So the Green Lanterns and the Green Lantern Corps are coming to join the Justice League universe." Kevin Smith, the host for the special added that "That's every kids dream, to see all those Justice League characters together, Gren Lantern is a big part."

Does this confirm his appearance? On one side, it does certainly hint on him playing an important part in the upcoming film, but sadly no more information is given in this regard what exactly could happen with these characters. Here is still hope that Green Lantern's casting might not bee to long off.
