Hollywood Suffering Due to Global Warming?
It seems that Global Warming is not only affecting our everyday lifes, but has also been giving Hollywood productions some massive logistic and financial issues, as a variety of films have been facing the trouble of lack in snow or unpredictable weather.
The Wrap got into contact with many filmmakers that gave
their own experiences with these troubles, as Dow Griffith, a member of the Location
Managers Guild of America, stated that “It
used to be you could get data, a local weather persona and a rough idea based
on numbers and expertise.”[1]
Inarritu’s upcoming film “The Revenant” had unbudgeted $10
million due to the fact that they had to move with the weather as they were
filming in Canada, something that use to never be an issue. Same thing happened
to Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming “The Hateful Eight”. Could we see a time where
films with a specific weather background might be forced to film the weather
conditions within a studio?
