The Agents of SHIELD Have a New Threat To Face In Season 3!

It seems Agents of SHIELD season 3 has not only started production, but already has been casting a considerable amount of new cast memebers for the new season. A new casting announcement comes from Entertainment Weekly’s current 50 scoops in 50 days campaign where it was revealed that Constance Zimmer, who played a villainous role in Lifetime’s UnREAL has landed a role as a new cast member in Agents of SHIELD.[1]

While not much is known about her role, it seems she will be the head of a mysterious new government agency that will cross paths with SHIELD, as both are trying to find the Inhuamns over the case of the shoe. It seems she will act as the antagonist for Coulson for the upcoming season, maybe in a role similar to that of Gonzales and the “real” SHIELD had in Agents of SHIELD’s second season.

When will we meet her? Well, it seems she will make her debut in the season 3 premiere, which seems to take place only a few months after the last season finale. Furthermore, it seems that Marvel comics villain Lash with play an important role alongside some characters that are inspired by the Secret Warriors comic book series.

Not only is the new cast announcement rather interesting, but that mysterious new government agency sounds like an intriguing plotline for the upcoming season. While I doubt this could be our introduction to SWORD, it would certainly be interesting to see what role they play. Could this be a new incarnation of HAMMER, an organization made to hunt down people with powers that will further cement the Civil War storyline before Captain America in May?
