It seems that we are receiving more and more information regarding the upcoming Luke Cage Netflix series, which will be arriving next year after the release of the second season of Daredevil, which is already in production and will feature the appearance of Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher. Once again, Heroic Hollywood has worked its magic and given us the first information regarding the TV show, which sees Cheo Hodari Coker as showrunner, following a man, who was wrongly imprisoned and as a result granted him powers. So, here is the quick rundown of the info., such as super-strength and bulletproof skin.[1]

First off, it seems the main antagonist will be Diamondback, or Willis Stryker, who was a childhood friend of Luke Cage and also the reason he landed in prison. Due to their joint love for a woman, who we will talk about later, he framed Cage for a crime he never committed, which makes sense to have him as the main antagonist, which will make this quite a personal story. Heroic Hollywood has also broke the news that a character known as Cottonmouth will be a villain in the series and it could be that he is working for Diamondback.

The woman they were fighting over? Well, she will be the main love interest, whose name is Reva Connors. What makes this interesting is that Luke Cage will already appear in Jessica Jones’ series, who would eventually be the woman he marries in the comics. Could Luke Cage’s own series maybe only feature her in the past, or will Jessica even make an appearance? This is still up in the air.

Production is planned to start next month, which could be a hint at a release around July/August next year and it may be interesting to see if they stick with the two Netflix series per year plan, or if Jessica Jones proves to be a success this might even change. Now, the only thing that remains is the highly anticipated release date for Jessica Jones and our first official look at the series.
