Will Blade Enter The MCU Afterall?

It’s Marvel madness today with an interesting new rumor that is going around. Many will remember that Wesley Snipes just recently had a discussion with Marvel Studios about potentially returning to play the role that not only put him on the map, but also established the trend that lead to today’s Comic Book movie map, Blade. While Snipes isn’t the youngest character anymore, there still was a considerable interest to see if he could either return as the character or even play a completely different one. Well according to Bleeding Cool, there might still be a possibility for him to play his role afterall.

Marvel’s biggest issue with Blade might be the more R-rated action he offers with hunting down blood-sucking vampires, but taking a book out of their own new concepts from Mavel’s All-New, All-Different line-up we could see them adapt a storyline surrounding not Blade, but Blade’s daughter. It seems after the actor recently let slip regarding his discussions, it seems that Executives have caught wind of the strong interest and are potentially trying to make a new Blade film as an important addition in the MCU slate, according to BleedingCool.[1]

While anything can change, it still is an interesting choice. Some people might be turned away from this idea, but take into consideration that it could potentially make the first three Blade films be prequels that are considered Canon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it would allow for the Daywalker to return on screen. Even if the focus is on the daughter, it could lead to some potential storylines in the future.

What are your thoughts on the matter? I would also like to give a huge thanks to @CBNostalgia, who brought this to my attention, and we actually also discussed this idea a while back!
