Is The Muppets A Mini-Series?

It seems that ABC's new The Muppets Series might have been planned to be a much shorter season than most, as according to some sources, it seems that instead of receiving the regular Back-9 order, it was only given additional 3 episodes. While some would consider this as a sign that the show is going to be cancelled, as never receiving more than 15 episodes, as the follow-up show Fresh Off the Boat would be pushed back to the 8 p.m. slot so that it will function as a lead in to the upcoming family comedy The Real O'Neals.

If The Muppets hadn't slipped in the ratings as much as it did since its initial release, it probably could have received an actual Back-9 order, but as of now it seems the show will come to an end with its 15th episode and it being renewed still left in the air until ABC announces the next TV season renewals in May. Still, it will be interesting to see if The Muppets can keep a steady pace on Tuesday in the upcoming weeks, or if it truly was just going to be a mini-series.

I still believe that Comedys weren't the best lead-ins for 9 p.m. Agents of SHIELD, but who knows if this will change with the upcoming season, as SHIELD already has a spin-off and a comedy show in development, which could change up the Tuesday line-up quite a lot.
