Is Marvel Expanding Its Netflix Deal?

It seems that after Daredevil’s success and the high anticipation for the upcoming Jessica Jones show is pushing interest towards creating more shows for the Netflix format. While not much information has been given on how all these show swill fall together for The Defenders mini-series, as Luke Cage has just entered production, but there were already rumors surrounding a potential Thunderbolts series. It seems that wasn’t all, as another rumor has started according to PeeltheOrgange.net, as they claim to have a source close to the situation giving them information on what shows we could potentially see joining the Netflix fray.[1]

2018 Moon Knight
2018 The Punisher
2019 Deathlok
2019 Spider-Woman

While it doesn’t give a lot away if these shows will be created in addition to the already existing four Defenders series, as only Daredevil is confirmed to have a second season. In addition, Netflix stated they would release a new Marvel series once every six months, which Luke Cage’s early production schedule might actually already have negated it, as following the usual production timeline it could see a release sometime in July or August. Furthermore, if Jessica Jones proves to be a success, we could also potentially see a second season for the character next year in November as well.

Still, as of now we should take this information with a grain of salt, especially as they state they already know who the villains will be, with Moon Knight facing off with Bushman, Punisher with Jigsaw, Deathlok with the Fixer and Spider-woman with Madame HYDRA, but these are things that could easily change over the course of years. I personally would love to see a Moon Knight series and am quite curious if the Deathlok series would focus on Mike Peterson’s incarnation from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which would be a great  bridge for the Netflix series to connect with that of ABC. Also very interesting that there is no mention of Blade or Ghost Rider, which have also been rumored for a while or even the Thunderbolts series.
