Emerald City Found Its True Kingpin

It seems NBC has found its Oz, the Great and Powerful for their upcoming “Emerald City” mini-series project, which aims to be a re-telling of Wizard of Oz with a much darker spin. This is naturally nothing new to the Oz franchise, as many have tried their hands on it, but now we know that Oz will be played by Kingpin Vincent D’Onofrio, who will star alongside Adria Arjona, who has been cast as Dorothy.[1]

The descriptions say that the Wizard of Oz is an enigmatic leader of Emerald City. A man of science in a world of magic, he rules through inspiration, fear and tenuous accord with the grand witches. It sounds like this might be Wizard of Oz meets House of Cards, which could be a potentially interesting darker look at the franchise.
