Zoom Has Been Cast...Or At Least His Voice?

Well, it seems that we might finally have some more information regarding DC Comics villain Zoom for the upcoming second season of The Flash on the CW Network, or at least a part of the casting. It could be that they have already officially casted the character, it is now official that “Candyman” actor Tony Todd will actually voice the character.[1]

According to Andrew Kresiberg, the executive producer, he stated that “Last year, with the Reverse-Flash, we just modulated Tom Cavanagh’s voice and this year we wanted to do something different. Part of the mystery of the season is who or what is underneath the Zoom outfit, and so we wanted to do something like James Earl Jones as Darth Vader – this iconic voice coming out of this mask. Last year, we thought of  the Reverse-Flash as a speed warrior; this year, Zoom is like a speed demon, and no one does demon-voice better than Tony Todd.”

We also know he will first appear in the second episode “Flash of Two Worlds”, which could already be a hint at the first appearance of Jay Garrick. The costume was also compared to that of Venom, with Kreisberg stating that “The Zoom outfit is much more organic than the Reverse-Flash suit. In a way, it’s hard to tell if it is a suit or alive...There’s no skin showing, for all you know there’s a robot underneath, or dark energy.” This sounds very similar to how Professor Zoom is currently portrayed int eh comics with less of a costume, but actually more of a organic suit that has become a part of his body. Maybe this is even a physical incarnation of the Speed Force coming alive?

Either way, what is your opinion on this casting? Leave a comment below!
